ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY
Virtual BARKtoberfest 2020
The Closter Animal Welfare Society (CLAWS) was founded December 4, 1969. With our network of dedicated volunteers, we rescue, foster, and find forever homes for abandoned and unwanted pets in the northern NJ area. We also run a pet food pantry to help families in our community struggling to feed their pets.
CLAWS is not a shelter. CLAWS has no paid employees, receives no funds from the state, and exists solely on donations and money we make from fundraisers and adoption donations. Because of this, 100% of every dollar raised goes directly toward the care of our animals.
CLAWS is licensed in the State of New Jersey as a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.
FOWA Rescue is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) (nonprofit) rescue organization dedicated to the welfare, sheltering and placement of homeless animals. We are committed to educating the public about the humane treatment of animals, preventing animal cruelty and overpopulation and promoting animal welfare.
Associated Humane Societies Newark Shelter
AHS Newark is just the place to go if you are looking to adopt a new furry family member! We have so many family friendly cats and dogs who need loving and safe homes to call their own! Visit our website ahscares.org to get started adopting your new family member!
Only Kindness, Inc. is a no-kill, 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, all volunteer rescue organization whose focus is on the overlooked, underserved and at-risk companion animals.
What makes us unique is that we don’t just rescue, foster, and adopt. We’re willing to go above and beyond to save lives, and work to change policies to improve the treatment of animals throughout our community.
Our Kindness Kitty programs include low-cost spay/neuter assistance, and developing municipal TNR ordinances to care for community cats and reduce homeless overpopulation.
We educate students to “”break the cycle”” of abandoned cats at colleges, and engage them to volunteer and advocate for animal welfare.
Only Kindness Rescue has been recognized for their commitment and dedication to rescuing and helping homeless animals and bringing awareness of the need for protection of pets of domestic violence victims with Proclamations by County Executive, Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr., and nine Mayors in Essex County.
Miss Pat’s Cats, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has been rescuing, feeding, spaying and neutering stray cats in the East Orange, Newark and surrounding areas for over 20 years. Miss Pat’s Cats was founded to help neglected cats, both feral and domestic by employing proven management tactics through TNR, pet owner hardship, including veterinary care.
Sri Lanka Wildlife Conservation Society
For over two and a half decades, we have been working to protect Sri Lanka’s most endangered wildlife through community-based conservation projects and scientific research. Our mission is to enable communities to balance ecosystem protection and economic development by pioneering a model for sustainable conservation. We are a non-governmental organisation committed to developing a sustainable model for wildlife conservation in Sri Lanka. Our focus is on helping people, elephants and other wildlife co-exist peacefully.
