Thanks to the dedicated members of Essex County Turtle Back Zoo, the Zoological Society of New Jersey has committed to planting 12,000 trees in high need areas both locally and abroad! The Turtle Back Zoo Tree Initiative produced our highest annual sales totals and a strengthened commitment to our mission-based programming.
The Turtle Back Zoo Tree Initiative started as a new way to make membership purchases positively impact the environment. One tree would be planted with each membership purchase, renewal, or gift in a high-need area abroad, and a matching financial commitment made to enable planting another tree in the greater Essex County area. Each membership purchase enabled the Turtle Back Zoo Tree Initiative to improve environments both locally in New Jersey and around the world.
